The humanitarian situation in South Sudan is very serious and many refugees in the camps are facing death.
The UN Humanitarian Coordinator in South SudanToby Lanzer told journalist during the launch of UN and Partners South Sudan 2013 Consolidated Appeal Monday in Juba that more people from South Kordofan and Blue Nile have come to South Sudan than it was expected.
He said 2.4 million South Sudanese are food insecure, and 170 thousand refugees from the Sudan need safe shelter and access to basic health care, a very difficult job in the camps of Upper Nile and Unity.
